About Louie
Louie one of our special needs kittens is now ready to find his home.
Louie is a special needs kitten, he has a condition called Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) this condition was initially observed by his vet in Horsham who referred Louie to a specialist ultrasound cardiologist who diagnosed him with VSD.
VSD means he has a hole or defect in the muscle wall of the heart that separates the left and right ventricles. Unfortunately there is no surgical options to repair this, however Louie also has another defect in his heart which is actually helping the first defect. Information sheets on these conditions will be provided which explains in more detail.
Due to this condition Louie will need a special home that understands he may have a reduced life expectancy, the specialist was unable to say how long this may be as it depends on how the condition changes as he grows. But he did say he may live for many years.
Louie doesn't know he has a heart condition and you wouldn't know anything was different by looking at him, he acts like any other kitten his age.
Due to his medical condition a totally indoor home only, preferably a one pet household or older quiet pet as to reduce high amount of exercise. Too much exercise could potentially put extra extra pressure on his heart.
Louie is very playful and interactive with new people.
He comes to his name when called.
- Carrie's his toys around the house. Very playful and inquisitive little kitten.
- Can be very intense when playing still learning that hands and feet are not toys, for this reason not suitable for small children.
- Once play time is over he like to sleep on his foster carers lap or shoulder.
- Louie is affectionate and always wants to know where his foster carer is, he follows you from room to room.
Louie goes to his new home flea and worm treated, had 2 vaccinations, desexed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
