About Sandy
Sandy is a clever and loyal little guy, weighing in at 18kg. Unfortunately he didn’t have the greatest start to life, having been born in a pound and spending most of his adolescence in and out of shelters and failed homes. As a result, his early socialisation was lacking and he’s had to start from scratch as an adult.
Sandy is not great with new people and dogs, however having had extensive rehabilitation he has improved dramatically. He takes time to adjust to new people (especially men) and environments, but once he likes you - you're bonded for life! If you've made it this far through his profile keep reading...
Sandy is an obedience SUPERSTAR. He loves to work with his person learning new tricks. He walks nicely on lead and knows all the basic commands. He is toilet trained, crate trained and muzzle trained. He has learnt to be comfortable in the car and will now willingly jump into the back of the car or ute for a ride. He LOVES to play, especially tug and fetch.
Sandy’s ideal home is with an experienced single or couple who wants a loyal companion. He needs a person who will always advocate for him and not put him in situations where he will lose it. A quiet rural or isolated location would be ideal, where he won’t come across too many strange people or dogs. He is not a café dog. He is not a dog park dog. Sandy needs to be the only pet in the home; no dogs, no cats, no pocket pets. He is also not suited to a home with children.
If you are a unicorn adopter who ticks all the above criteria, please get in touch to chat! Ongoing professional support and training will be provided.
