About Meriel
This little girl came to us without a microchip and underweight. The people who brought her in said she was ‘one of the nicest cats we’ve met’ but unfortunately they could not keep her. It was clear that in the short time we have had her that she lives up to this reputation. After two long weeks of hopeful waiting, no one had come to claim her and by the end of the month it was clear that no one would. Meriel had gained weight rather quickly in this time and we were beginning to think that we’d spoiled her a little too much however, at a second glance, we realized she was in fact pregnant! only a young cat herself, she had an abdomen that was too big for her to handle and was getting more and more uncomfortable by the day and finally one fine friday morning, meriel popped out her first kitten- who was sadly still born. Meriel strained for the rest of the day and by the late afternoon she had 5 beautiful babies. At first she was uncertain of what to make of them but she soon proved to be a great mother. Meriel was given a large responsibility at a very young age and, as a result, has had to begin her life backwards. Her kittens have all found homes and now she is ready to embrace her kittenhood again and find a loving family to look after her. Meriel will have to go to a single cat home or one with a younger kitten as she does not appreciate the company of other cats or dogs. Meriel comes desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated for $125 adoption fee.
