About Bella DL2805
Bella is a snoozy girl who likes to be near you when you are home and therefore is an inside dog most of the time.
She does also like to lie outside, either on her outside-bed in the alfresco area or on the lawn. She stays indoors when you go out and is very well behaved and hasn’t chewed anything at all.
Bella really, really wants to be friends with the resident cat in her foster home. The cat is tolerant of dogs, but doesn’t want to snuggle with them – to Bella’s eternal disappointment – but Bella is gentle and respectful of the cat. She'd love to find home with a kitty to cuddle!
One unusual quirk is that Bella will not poop at home – she only poops at the park! So she needs several outings each day so that she can toilet.
She loves her sniffy walks and she does a happy dance when you get her harness out. She is used to walking in the mornings and afternoons; care will just need to be taken to ensure she doesn't become too sore, she may need shorter trips.
With Bella's sensitive skin and sensitive tummy, she needs to stick to a particular diet. Her main protein is kangaroo and her foster carer can provide the details on the exact food products she is currently having.
Bella is learning to play and has just started to play with her turtle toy. She has even done zoomies... only for 2 minutes but it’s lovely to see her happy. She sleeps all night on her bed in the family room and stays there until you come out to say ‘good morning’ – she doesn’t wake up early!
Bella is a little cautious of new people at first, and will approach women before men, but once introduced, she soon warms up. She hasn't met kids up close while in our care, but has been fine passing them on walks. She's a very gentle soul.
Bella is friendly with other dogs with a slow and gentle intro. She isn't reactive to other dogs on walks and is happy to say hello. She lives next door to some yappy dogs and gives them a sniff but never yells back. She may like having another calm dog for company, and we know she'd love a cat.
If you'd love to welcome Bella into your family, email DFLadoption@gmail.com today to apply!
Medical notes
At 21.5kg, Bella is a medium sized dog.
Bella has been diagnosed with Recurrent Shar Pei Fever Syndrome – vet has indicated she will likely need ongoing meds (Meloxicam - anti-inflammatory) and reviews (blood and kidney tests).
She has sensitive skin and also has some tummy issues as part of the syndrome, so she must stick to a particular diet.
