About Lexi ~ 1.5yr Old Maremma(On Trial 20/3/22)
Meet Lexi, a polite and well behaved 1.5yr old female Maremma who would rather be your cuddle buddy than a working dog. She’s truly a sweet gentle girl, who initially liked women better than men. Though she now does love to give her foster dad cuddles every time he comes home.
Lexi is a beautiful dog that needs love and will give the right family love and protection in return. She is initially very skittish meeting new people, so you’ll need to be prepared to give her time and space to get used to her new home.
Lexi isn’t suited to suburban living, and we will not be considering any applications from suburban areas. She needs to be on acreage in a rural area with large grounds to suit her considerable size and temperament. Although she loves spending time with children, ideally there will be at least one other dog in the home for company as she does like a doggy playmate. She currently lives with 4 other dogs on a large property, so is well socialised.
Lexi loves to swim, burning off some of her energy doing laps of her foster carers pool. She will still need time spent on her manners, as being in foster care only a short time they aren’t quite perfect yet. But she can sit, stay, has excellent recall and walks well on a lead. She is toilet trained, though does prefer to be outdoors most of the time.
She’d would enjoy living on a small hobby farm as Lexi has been introduced to sheep and goats, but isn’t suited to being a working dog. Fences will need to be at least 1.2m in height. After a very timid start to life in foster care, Lexi has settled in well and become a dog protector true to her breed. She has taken on lots of lessons from the other dogs.
For more information on Lexi, please contact her foster carer on their email kri201@hotmail.com, Lexi is in foster care in the Hunter Region, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Lexi’s adoption fee is $700. She is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Lexi please fill out the adoption application form here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.

PLEASE NOTE: When applying for our dogs and puppies, please ensure to list the name of the dog you wish to adopt. Please do NOT just list the reference number or the microchip number as this will delay your application reaching the correct foster carer.
