About Chloe
Hi, Chloe here!
I’m a sweet and petite (6kg) Jack Russell Terrier girl who loves food - all the food! - squeaky toys, a good game of tug, people…especially the little people, and game of chase the hose helps me cool down in this hot weather! Do you have room in your family (and on your couch) for me?
My foster mum says I’m a special little girl who will fit into most homes, and anyone who loves that typical Jack Russell Terrier spirit will love me! I’m independent and can be single minded, especially if I spot a skink or gecko to chase, smell a possum, or when my arch nemesis Mr Crow dares to show his face, but I also like to be close to my people and am never far away from the household action.
While I do like to walk to the beat of my own drum, I also love nothing more than to curl up on the couch with you to watch some Netflix, and if you need a home office supervisor I’m your girl! I take my job very seriously and will happily snooze at your feet (or on the couch) while you work.
I’m house trained, enjoy walks around the neighborhood and have perfect leash manners, even when I walk with my two foster brothers or pass by other people and dogs when we’re out and about. I’ve been sleeping in a dog crate at my foster home but would also happily share your bed if you’d like a snuggle buddy. I really don’t take up much room. I will also do almost anything for a treat and we could have lots of fun learning new things together! I have the cutest doggy beg perfected!
I’m looking for a family with or without a doggy pal, but no cats please. To be safe, maybe no free-range birds or chickens, or pocket pets either, I am a Jack Russel Terrier after all, it’s my job to hunt little critters! If you do already have a canine side-kick I will settle in more quickly if they are polite and give me time to get to know them. I appreciate good manners in my doggy friends and warm up quickly to new friends if they are patient. If we start off on the right foot we’ll be doing zoomies around the yard and sharing toys in no time!
If I’m going to be an only dog please promise you’ll spend time with me and include me in your life. I’m happiest when I can be close to my family and would prefer a home where I can be inside more often than not. I’m also an expert level sports fan and love cheering the humans on at weekend sports…..I’m so well behaved you really can take me anywhere and I’d love to join you on your adventures!
So by now I bet you’re thinking I sound too good to be true! What’s the catch? I am 99% a very good girl but I do have one hang up I should probably tell you about. I sometimes get nervous if you pick me up unexpectedly or physically try to restrain me, which makes me a bit panicky. I might even growl or snap out of fright if I feel like I can’t get away. It’s an easy one for us to manage while we build a trusting relationship though. If I’m nervous about following an instruction to move or stop doing something when you ask just use those treats I like so much, along with some patience, and I’ll soon learn I have nothing to be concerned about. Problem solved!
This quirk does mean that if you have children they will need to understand that they shouldn’t pick me up or be too physical with me. If you don’t think they are old enough to follow the rules sadly we might not be a perfect match.
If you’re still reading I hope that means you think I’m worth meeting to see if we click! Hopefully I’ll see you soon.

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
