About Chrome
Check out this handsome dude !!! Chrome is a bit of a show stopper with his big ears and gorgeous golden fur. He’s a big love bug and would love to be someone’s large lap dog.
Chrome is a very friendly boy and has slotted into his foster home very well. He lives with another dog, a cat and adult children. We feel he would be ok in a new home with a cat as long as the cat is dog savvy and his new family understand correct and slow introductions. A home with another medium to large sized, friendly and playful dog would be ideal for this boy as he loves a play and is still working on being happy to be left alone. It would benefit him if his new family are around a lot at least for the first few months until he has been taught to enjoy alone time.
Chrome came from rural NSW so his new family need to understand he has come from a sheltered life and must be knowledgeable enough to continue his gentle introduction into Sydney life. He is doing brilliantly in care and his foster carers report he is confident out and about, but needs a handler who can guide him through those unsure moments or new situations.
This boy is going to be quite large and not super high energy but enjoys a good daily walk and some play time like tug rope. His new family should be prepared to take him out daily and continue his socialisation with people, other dogs and new places. He would make an amazing adventure buddy!
His foster carers have been very committed to his training and he is coming along really well. He is learning basic commands such as sit and loose leash walking. Chrome still needs work with his toilet training, but with correct management he will continue to improve. He loves to engage with his people so training is fun.
He is currently sleeping in a crate during the night and has no issues with this. He does enjoy a morning and evening couch cuddle a lot though and will cuddle in for some tummy rubs. He would love it if his new family would allow him to do this too! He travels well in the car and enjoys playing with different types of toys and rumbling with the resident dog.
Chrome came to us a bit underweight and needing some TLC. He has all but forgotten his previous life, but one area he still needs work on is he has some resource guarding of high value treats such as cows hooves and pigs ears. His foster carers have been working on this and it’s happening less frequently, however his new owners should be experienced enough to ensure this is managed and fixed. We expect he will continue to improve in this area with correct guidance.
Chrome is looking for a home where he will be allowed inside as part of the family and be provided a warm, comfy bed inside to sleep on of a night. He should be kept on a high quality diet and given mental and physical stimulation daily. He is in prime puppy stage and can be quite mouthy when excited. Not in an aggressive way, he just uses his mouth to show his enthusiasm with the interaction. This needs consistent training to ensure he understands this is not an appropriate way to interact with people. Due to this we will be looking for a home with children over 12.
Chrome is just a lovely, cuddly and social boy who deserves an equally amazing home to call his forever home. If you feel you are his perfect family and can provide him with the adventure and love he craves, fill out an adoption application on our website as the next step in the process.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
