About Millie
Mille is a happy and sweet girl. She is a cutie with her dark chocolate coat and white socks. Millie has soulful eyes and white highlights on her chest and the tip of her tail. She has already done well in an adopted home for the last three years but, unfortunately due to a death in her family we have been asked to find a new more stable home for her.
Millie is an easy companion. She is affectionate and good company without being too demanding. She enjoys her two walks and a zoomie each day but will nap much of the day. Millie is an expert roacher- sleeping upside down is her thing.
Millie will collect her toys each night to keep her company on her bed and then return them to the living room in the morning. She loves when you toss her toys for her to chase.
Millie loves visitors to her home, however is a little more reserved on her walks. She appreciates polite humans and dogs to meet when she is out and about but may be a bit unsettled with loud noises such as skate boards or bouncing balls. Millie will need a home in a quiet suburb or the country.
Millie is your perfect companion. All she wants is a quiet home with her loving humans.
Millie has happily shared a home with another greyhound in fostercare but is also fine as an only dog.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
