About Rosie's Pups
Rosie is a beautiful Whippet cross Kelpie who came into our care in pup. She had seven pups on 15th January and we are now taking expressions of interest for them. They are all very active and playful.
All the pups are developing individual personality traits. Stella the white firstborn girl, is the smallest and bossiest, but very sweet and obedient. Sisters, Reyka and Nova are usually quite gentle and both have changed in appearance quite a lot, with more brown colouring. Reyka has developed two eye markings and is quite fluffy and Nova has speckled brown markings. Of the three black and tan brothers, Monty is the watchful one, sitting back and observing what's happening and jumping into the fray when the time is right. Murray is a bit sensitive, needing some extra cuddles in new situations, but definitely knows how to stand up for himself. Mallee (I'm adopting him) is very active and mischievous. Clayton, the fawn boy with white face markings, is a bit of a teddy bear in both looks and temperament.
All the pups love being handled and cuddled and really love a little 'me' time away from their brothers and sisters.
They have an enclosure, attached to the garage, and were quite rowdy adjusting to the grass and open air.
Each pup has a homemade chew toy to take to their new home. They've been in the den with them, so they have all those familiar and comforting smells.
First vaccinations and microchipping happened last week. Lorraine, Maddy and Nick from AWAR looked after them and said they handled it really well. They said that Reyka was quite the personality! Inquisitive and playful. They had their six-weekly worming and weigh-in and also a nail clipping, much to Rosie's relief. Lorraine said they are all over 2kg.
Soon these adorable babies will be leaving for their new homes. I think Rosie is quite ready for it, but I will miss them, (not the 4am wake-up calls). All seven pups have a good temperament and seem quite adaptable, so hopefully they will handle the separation without too much anxiety.
Puppy Preschool is essential for these puppies as well as ongoing socialising and a total commitment to love them for the next 15 -20 years and forever
