Meet Balto

Balto has come into care after being an unwanted puppy. His owners decided that a puppy wasn't something they wanted so they handed him over to their neighbours who got into contact with us to help rescue him.

Hes a very sweet and affectionate boy who loves every person her meets. Balto loves playing with other dogs of all sizes, he's met small terriers and lives with 3 great danes and a staffy. After living with a cat for over a week Balto is learning very quickly not to chase him, although he is a puppy and does like to play with everybody including the resident cat.

Balto is still a young puppy and does have a habit of jumping up due to this it would be best to have older kids or dog savvy kids in the home.

While Balto is a loving and playful puppy he does take a little bit if time to settle into a new home. His foster carer has been working hard on his crate training and due to this his separation anxiety that he came into care with has drastically reduced. He can become a little frightened if left outside, we believe he was locked outside for extended periods of time prior to coming into care. But after some positive reinforcement Balto is learning that outside is a great place to play even in the rain!

He loves chewing on his cow's hoof and playing with squeaky toys! Balto is very very clever and already knows how to sit. Hes very food motivated and will do anything to get his food so should be a very trainable puppy.
