About Frankie ~ 5mo Pug(Rev Apps 12/3/22)
This little ball of fun has personality to burn. Frankie, a 5 month old purebred Pug will definitely add presence to her new family. Still in the throws of puppyhood she is learning the ways of spoilt indoor life, including toilet training. She enjoys a good dig in the garden and chewing everything she can pick up. She is super friendly and very excitable.
Please note, Frankie is going to be extremely popular as a desirable breed puppy. Her non negotiables are a family with another dog, young to middle aged who will give her reassurance and comfort, an experienced dog home with an understanding of her breed and possible health issues, how to manage them and financial capacity to do so and no children under 10.
All rescues have a story and Frankie's will be told to her adoptive family. Suffice to say her needs listed above are driven from her short history and what we believe to be in her best interest. She is a writhing ball of muscle who doesn't appear to have been handled a lot in early months. She is getting used to cuddles on her terms but could easily wriggle and be dropped which is why we are seeking experienced owners and no small children.
Her breed requirements are such that she must be allowed to be an inside dog and not left outside in the heat. She will need short but regular opportunities for exercise. She is madly in love with her big foster sister. She follows her everywhere, sleeps with her and initiates play with her regularly. We are also training Frankie to sleep in a crate at night to assist with toilet training, but this is useful for travel and many other purposes in a dog's life. Desexing is a mandatory requirement and she will not be signed over on the register until completed.
Frankie loves water and loves the beach! She follows her foster brother and sister straight in for a swim and will love to be included in family adventures. She will also play under the hose. She has had no basic training, so will need a commitment from her new family to enrol in puppy school to learn basic commands. She comes when called and is highly food motivated. She is learning to walk on a harness.
As Frankie is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she will need to be returned to a local vet for desexing when she is approximately 6months old. Please NO out of area applications.
Frankie is currently living in the Newcastle NSW region. For more information, please contact Lauren on hitthesand@hotmail.com, as all our carers are volunteers and we anticipate a high volume of applications, those not meeting her requirements will not be answered.
Frankie’s adoption fee is $1500, her adoption fee includes desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she has been treated for fleas and worms. If you are interested in adopting Frankie, please fill out the adoption application form here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
PLEASE NOTE: When applying for our dogs and puppies, please ensure to list the name of the dog you wish to adopt. Please do NOT just list the reference number or the microchip number as this will delay your application reaching the correct foster carer.
Medical notes
Only a family with breed experience, knowledge and awareness will be suitable for Frankie. Please ensure you do your research into this breed and the medical requirements involved.
As Frankie is not yet desexed, she is only available to homes within the Newcastle, Hunter, Central Coast and Lake Macquarie regions as she will need to be returned to our vet at approximately 5-6 months of age for desexing. Unfortunately this is not negotiable.
