About Ace
Please meet ACE, a handsome and friendly young red kelpie mix male, looking for a safe and loving forever home. He was born on 3 August 2020.
Ace is very affectionate, intelligent and athletic and, not surprisingly, playing ball is one of his favourite activites.
He absolutely loves humans and is good with children, although he's probably a little too exuberant for the under 8's, unless they know a thing or two about working dog breeds.
Ace is very dog-friendly, although he can be a little competitive when it comes to "his" ball.
Ace has settled well into farm life with his foster carer. Ace is proving to be a loyal and trustworthy dog. He lives with horses, chickens, small and large dogs. His recall is a big bonus and he is great off leash. Ace will need some more lead training.
He is untested with cats.
Ace would make a loyal companion for an active person or couple, but would also be well suited to an active family with older children.
He would be best suited to a home where he has space to run and play. Importantly, he is not suited to a life of isolation in the backyard. That's exactly what he had before and for this type of dog, isolation is a cruel fate. He needs a home where someone is around most of the time and there is another compatible dog for him to play with. Prior breed experience with working dog breeds will be highly regarded. Secure fencing is essential.
If you are interested in meeting Ace and can offer him a suitable, safe and loving forever home, PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and wormed.
Ace is available for interstate adoption and virtual meet and greets may be offered to approved applicants.
