Nettle arrived into our care last month after she was sprung out of a NSW pound. She raised her litter of kittens and then found herself on her own and needing a rescue to take her into care. When Nettle arrived she was full of energy after being confined to a pound cage for a couple of months. She has now settled into her foster home whilst she awaits her forever home.
Here is what Nettle's foster family have to say about our gorgeous little lady.
"Nettle is very inquisitive. Her favourite spot at the moment is on top of our lorikeet cage, watching out the window. She loves little jingle balls, and gets the zoomies while playing with them. Very much still a kitten at heart herself but is SO gentle and patient with the kids, she will seek them out for pats. She’s quite vocal and will let you know when she wants a pat or more dinner. Nettle has adjusted well to the cats and birds. Our malamute X has issues with other beings getting attention when she is not and makes a bit of noise, but Nettle is cautiously interested in her and not scared. Nettle likes to chew on indoor plants, so all inside plants must be cat safe and not your pride and joy".
Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a meet and greet with little Nettle. 🐾
Adoption details
If you would like to know more information about any of our rescue animals, our rescue group, or to arrange a meet and greet, please email us. Please provide us with your name, email address, contact number, and some information about yourself, and the home you have to offer one of our rescue animals.
About us:
Gary and the Handicats Rescue is run soley by a Vet Nurse who works shift work and also cares for sick and high needs rescue animals. We strive to get back to you within 24 hours, but during busy kitten seasons there may be a delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please note we do not run on a "first in first served" basis. We screen applicants well before proceeding with adoption. Vet and rental references may be required for certain special needs adoptions.
We receive a large amount of interest in our handraised kittens, and certain special needs animals. Please understand that if you're application isn't successful, this may just be due to the amount of applications we have had for that particular animal, and not because of the home you have to offer. Preference is always given to our past adopters.
Meet and Greets:
• Meet and greets are held in an environment where the particular cat or kitten feels most comfortable.
• Please do not bring your own animals to a meet and greet.
• We do not allow any of our animals to be taken home on the day of the meet and greet. Special circumstances may be considered.
Picking up you're new family member:
• You MUST bring a safe, secure, and size appropriate carrier for your baby to travel home in. We do not have carriers to provide new adopters, and we will not send home one of our rescue animals in a cardboard box or a washing basket. If a carrier isn't able to be provided, your adoption will be cancelled.
