About Gigi
English Staffys can come in various sizes but this little sweetheart is an exception....... She's tiny .....
Sweet little Gigi is now seeking her forever home. Gigi is a 5year old English Staffy, who currently weighs in at a mere 13 kilos lol - sheâs a very tiny girl, not much bigger than a Jack Russell.
Gigi is an extremely affectionate, loyal and loving girl. She is full of character and at times sass, she struts around and loves any attention she can get. She can be quite vocal but for the most part doesnât make much noise at all. She absolutely adores people and will do just about anything for a belly rub. She is most happy being inside with her people and will often sook if put outside - Gigi does suffer from separation anxiety and becomes quite worked up and stressed when left on her own. She has recently started medication to help with this and we have seen significant progress already which we hope will only continue with time and consistency.
OBEDIENCE:
Gigi is a very clever girl who can sit, shake, drop and beg - particularly if there are treats involved. She will also wait to be told when she can eat her food. She loves going for walks and is super gentle on the lead. She is extremely well toilet trained and hasnât had a single accident since being with her foster family. At times she is cheeky and tryâs her luck jumping up on the couch or the bed but is quick to get off once told.
ENRICHMENT:
Gigi loves going for walks and will stop to smell anything and everything along the way. Occasionally she likes to play with a tennis ball or rope/tug of war but mostly for the interaction with her people.
SLEEPING:
Gigi has been sleeping in her bed in her foster familyâs bedroom and is a really good sleeper, we donât hear a peep out of her. In the morning when she has been out to the toilet, she loves to zoom down the hallway and launch back into her bed. She also enjoys laying around in the morning sun.
SOCIALIZATION:
Unfortunately we have found that Gigi is not very good with other dogs and therefore she will not be suitable for anyone that already has a dog. She has not been tested with cats but feels they would not work either. Gigi is all about people...
CHILDREN:
Gigi is untested around children but given her gentle and loving nature towards people we feel that she would be fine with them. She has crossed paths with some children when out for walks and has spent a few hours around a newborn and wasnât phased.
MEDICAL:
Gigi came in with skin issues but this has now been treated all cleared. Gigi has had a full dental completed.
Gigi is currently being medicated for her anxiety twice daily with food which is showing good effect , She has only just started this medication in the last few weeks so we feel that this is certainly going to assist her in being left alone. We encourage her new home to continue this medication and work with their own vets on working through this .
IDEAL HOME:
Gigi will live a very happy and comfortable life in a home where she is understood, loved and treated as part of the family. Gigi will be best suited to a person/family who works from home or spends a lot of time at home, who can have her inside with them, take her for lots of walks and who will appreciate her for the incredibly special girl that she is.
As we have mentioned GiGi does have separation anxiety issues but this is improving on her medication and she has been left outside for up to 3 hours outside alone eating a pig's ear. GiGi will need a home where she will have company for most of the time especially while she settles into her new home and her medication continues to take effect.
GGi comes with one of our adoption packs including Harness.Lead, Travel bowl and seat belt
