About Clara
Clara is an excitable 16month old Labrador X who is a smoochy sweetheart and just wants to be part of the family.
She is VERY excitable when she first sees people or is first welcomed into a family but settles in fast and will spend most of the time dozing or just laying wherever she can be close to the family action.
She is currently in a foster home with a 19 month old toddler and they love each other. She is very gentle and patient with her however she is very excited with kids (and everyone else) when she first sees them so needs ongoing training to keep learning her manners.
Although she is a shadow when the family is at home she hasn't shown signs of separation anxiety and doesn't bark when the family has to go out. Clara isn't too interested in the neighbour's dogs on each side of the fence, however she is quite interested in other dogs when out for a walk so may need some additional training in that area also.
As with most Labs, Clara is very food driven so this can be use in her training around learning how to greet people and with some more manners.
Clara has recently been found to have hip dysplasia however it is manageable with a joint supplement and by keeping her fit and lean.
She would do best in a home where she is the only pet and has someone home more often than not as she loves the company of her humans. Her new owner would also need to be committed to keeping her fit and healthy to manage her hip condition.
Medical notes
Clara has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. The vet has said it is manageable with a joint supplement and by keeping her fit and lean. Her new owner will need to be committed to ensuring this condition is managed.
