Are you looking for a new best friend who will melt into your arms like butter any chance he gets?
A best friend who is loyal, loving and cute as a button?
Look no further than this beautiful boy Gippo!
Gippo is a very gentle, shy and loving pup who doesn’t like to be left on his own. At Gippo’s new home, he must have a human around for most of the day as he gets very distressed when left without human company. He sleeps well at night as long as he is with his human – although he has not been tested sleeping elsewhere, he would likely not cope with being on his own of a night.
He has learned to sit and stay (he’s great at this at meal times) and has fallen into a routine very quickly. Gippo is housetrained but not yet able to signal when he needs to use the bathroom – so must be let outside (or have free access to outdoors) a few times a day for toileting to avoid accidents. He has shown that he has the ability to learn boundaries and routines quickly. He will flourish in a home that is committed to ongoing obedience training as it’s clear he is very intelligent and capable of great things. He is still a puppy, however seems to have completely outgrown puppy tendencies such as nipping. He will chew on things he isn’t meant to if he is alone and / or anxious, but is able to be easily redirected with a chew toy of his own or human interaction. Gippo will sometimes jump up and finds it very difficult to contain his excitement when reunited with his human after a period of time away, however for the most part he is very gentle and calm.
Gippo was very tolerant of his super high-energy foster sister, and has even enjoyed some on-lead play time with his canine neighbour, demonstrating that he is dog-friendly with dogs his size. He is very curious when taken out for walks, so will require a bit more training on the lead. Although he behaves well once in the car, he does need to be lifted in. He would much prefer to walk places – or just stay home!
Some of Gippo’s favourite activities include – snacks from his Kong, chasing the hose (until it turns on him), mentally stimulating puzzles such as snuffle mats and IQ balls, and following every step his human takes. Chew toys are a must! He is also very happy lazing around as long as his human is within close proximity and does not necessarily need an active household (daily short walks okay), just a very inclusive and loving one who will let him have lots of couch time and pats.
He truly is the sweetest boy and will without a doubt make his new forever family very happy.
