About Porter
PORTER is a very cuddly, very bubbly Border Collie x Kelpie male, born on or around 15 December 2021. He is one of a litter of seven boys, which we've called The Party Litter.
An Aussie boy through and through, Porter is a delightful combination of two classic working dog breeds.
Like all BC/Kelpies, Porter is super sweet, highly intelligent, alert and very trainable. On the day his photos were taken, he took an instant fancy to his vet nurse and cuddled up to her like they were old friends.
BC/Kelpies can make great family pets, loyal companions and excellent watchdogs. They have an exceptionally high IQ and may get into mischief if left to their own devices. They require plenty of exercise, and will become bored if stuck in a backyard for lengthy periods without stimulation or company.
The secret to bringing the best out in a BC/kelpie is to keep him occupied and well loved.
His greatest joy is the love and attention of an active owner or family, while his greatest disappointment is inactivity and lack of attention.
BC/Kelpies are eager to please and extremely loyal. Wherever their humans are, that's where they'll be too - whether that's out in a boat, in the back of a car, going for a walk, training for agility competitions or herding, or just watching television in the evening.
To be happy and content, Porter will need plenty of vigorous daily exercise and play. Secure fencing is a must. He is not suited to full-time workers who work away from the home.
Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and/or there is another compatible dog for Porter to play with. Prior experience with the working dog breeds breed will be highly regarded. As always, secure fencing is essential.

His adoption fee is $950 and at the point of adoption he will be desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Porter lives in Warwick, Queensland but is available for interstate adoption.
Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) The "meet and greet" is held in Warwick, Queensland. If successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
