About Turkey
This dog is by far no Turkey, but somehow was given the name as a young pup.
Being surrendered to BARC through no fault Turkey the 4 year old Red Heeler Mix is now on the lookout for a new family to spend his time with.
A lovely boy, with good manners, wanting to do nothing but please and lavish his new owners with attention Turkey is seeking a home with another medium sized dog to have as a play mate and possibly a home with teenage kids only.
Although having always been a pet, Turkey is of working breed background and therefore does poses the innate behaviours found with dogs designed to round up livestock. Therefore we would love to find a home for this boy with someone with some breed experience.
Turkey is great on a lead, has been an avid adventurer making regular trips across the state. He would love a family wanting an inclusive dog to also take away for comping, day trips and general adventures.
Spending his days at the shelter, Turkey plays with his big pal Pup whom will also be available for adoption on our website.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
