About Axel
Meet Axel! A 10-12 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix. He is a lovely, affectionate boy who is especially energetic and bouncy at dinner time!
Axel gets on well with female dogs but is also happy on his own. He would suit a family or single person where he is the centre of attention and given all the love he deserves! He would love a home with someone who works from home so he can have a morning walk and then nap for a few hours before he's ready to go again. He loves napping on the floor or couch near you while you work. He would be fine to be left for a couple days a week as long as he has a female dog for company.
Axel loves food, cuddles, scratches and tummy rubs. He loves 'herding' other dogs and running after them as they chase a ball. He loves walking around the neighbourhood and smelling every single pole and flower as he goes. He loves to lie on the couch next to you with his head resting on your leg while you rub his tummy. He loves to nap but also loves to follow you around and is interested in everything you'll include him in.
He is inquisitive and smiles as he runs up to you. He is great with children, adults and small dogs. He is social and doesn't bark much at all. His stumpy little tail wags all the time. He is a loving boy who wants someone to love him back. He loves a swim and will submerge himself in the creek. He loves to play and will do tug of war. Axel can run and jump very well. He has no trouble jumping in and out of the back of the car. He can easily jump on and off couches and beds. He is very fit for a senior and can run around for an hour easily.
He can sit and wait for dinner. His recall is great and walks well on the lead with no pulling. He is learning his inside manners and that trees are there for a reason! He has basic obedience and his recall is spot on. He is very food motivated so easy to train.
If you think Axel will fit into your lifestyle, send it an application!
