Barley is a gorgeous and friendly dog. She absolutely loves people, but due to her size would best suit families with kids 5+.

Barley totally immerses herself in the family life, so needs a home where she is with you whether inside or out when you are home. Barley is very receptive to human emotions (anxiety, panic disorders & yelling.) She will retreat if she feels uneasy but is not aggressive at all.

She has the most calm & loving nature and is eager to please; often putting her paw on you or to hold your hand. She also likes to lick you to show her affection. She can jump up on people from excitement if not pulled in line; but is not a fence jumper and so far shows she doesn't bark much.

She loves the beach & jumping in for a swim; or just going for a stroll or laying about hanging with you.

She is very responsive around the home, & a gentle ah ahh is enough for her to stop doing something she's not supposed to. She generally will not get on the couch or beds unless invited (but once she is invited that's it!)

Barley is great at humans meal times, and usually removes herself from the family meal area.

She does dig large holes to cool down in summer; but it tends to be in same area (ie: under the trampoline). Please do not apply if you cannot accept this as it's in her nature!

Barley is very considerate to the pooper scooper cleaner!. She always does her business on the garden edge of the grass, so no worries about stepping in it & quick to maintain !

Barley is the kind of dog that will be your best friend, yet shows love to all your friends & loves a good belly rub! She is a gentle pet, but possesses enough size to make a stranger be weary of crossing you the wrong way.
