Angus is a loving and happy dog with a constantly wagging tail. He loves to be the centre of attention yet not too demanding.
He loves human company, enjoys pats, loves to follow his humans around and enjoys sleeping close by. Angus is a loyal, placid, good-natured dog, eager to please , especially, when offered treats, and loves being part of the family. Angus enjoys the company of other quiet dogs so it is unclear how he may respond to more lively dogs.
Angus came to us from the shelter quite overweight with infected eyes and ears. His eyes and ears have cleared up however, the infection in his ears might be an ongoing but this can be easily treated if it reoccurs.
He needed a cruciate operation on his left leg, he was walking with a limp and in pain. Although he wasn’t in the best health and in pain, he tried his best to get around with a smile on his face when we picked up.
He has since had a specialist operation to correct the left leg and physio to strengthen his legs. He walks well but extra care needs to be taken as he loves walking at your feet and appearing with a big smile on his face when you least expect him to.
Angus absolutely loves his food but had to be put on a low-fat diet to lose weight. He has lost about 5kgs, how fantastic is that! He has taken to munching on paper and tissues, replacing fats for cardboard! Definitely, a low card diet.
Angus walks well on the lead and is happy to go for walks investigating his surroundings and talking to dogs along the way. He tires out easily and is happy for one or two little walks, around 15- 20 mins . He also travels well in the car. Angus is house trained and, as he sleeps inside, it is important he goes to the toilet before settling down for the night. He will let you know when he needs to go outside.
Angus would suit a family with older kids or adults only household, ideally, a household in which one adult was a home for periods of time or worked part time, as although, he can cope with being left for periods of time, he may struggle being left alone for long periods. Angus is an inside dog , he likes a routine and once he is confident in his surroundings, he is happy to be on his own.
Angus still struggles with stairs and still needs to be carried up or down them.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
