About Rex ~ 14mo Deerhound X(On Trial 10/11/22)
PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provide individual listings specific to each foster dog that comes through our doors. Each listing outlines the specific requirements, and home that we are looking for. Should you submit an application OR inquiry and NOT receive a response within 5 business days (Monday-Friday), please understand that you have not met the specific requirements of the foster carer and will not be proceeding to the next stage. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged if you do not receive a reply, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time. Dog Rescue Newcastle reserve the right to not reply to unsuitable applicants and will not tolerate bullying, intimidation or harassment of our volunteers
Allow me to introduce this extremely handsome, unique and majestic young man called Rex! Besides all of these wonderful attributes he is also very smart, extremely loving, super sweet and just that little bit cheeky. He is medium to large in size, around the size of a greyhound!
Rex is a sweet boy who just wants love, encouragement, attention and you. Like any young person he needs stimulus, exercise and ongoing training to encourage intellectual growth and a balanced life for him, however he is very happy to just be with you. He loves long walks and playing fetch and tugawar.
Rex is toilet trained, very polite at meal time (will sit, stay and eat when you say okay), knows 'sit', 'lay down', 'stay', 'come', 'on your bed' and with ongoing training will know a lot more. Rex walks well on a lead but can be reactive to other dogs so ongoing training is a must and he would benefit from socialisation training. Rex rarely barks but when he does he is a baritone. He has little to no shedding and enjoys a bath and groom.
This little man would benefit, at this stage, by being an only furchild, having a good well fenced yard to run in, to be allowed to sleep inside or out and have someone home with him more often than not. Would suit a part time working family. No pocket pets recommended, but would suit a family with or without children.
This beautiful boy is very even tempered, so if you are a previous a dog owner, have patience, have a fairly active life-style and a loving home to offer you will be rewarded with a loving companion.
For more information on Rex, please contact vanessa74green@gmail.com Rex is chilling out in the shelter in the Newcastle Area, NSW and is available for adoption or foster care. Rex’s adoption fee is $250 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
