Hello! Meet this gorgeous mama-daughter duo - Smokey & Firefly

Smokey is a 1year 1month old Domestic short hair cat with one of the rare coats called Blue Creme Torbie (aka dilute tortoiseshell + tabby). She's a mum of 4 but she's just a little kitten, seriously she's so small in size! Firefly is her only daughter in her litter. She's a 10 weeks old Domestic medium hair black tortie with little bit of tortitude! There's hardly any age difference between the two and its so much fun to watch them together :)

Smokey's intro
I found myself heavily pregnant in the Spring of 2021 and decided to follow a lovely human couple one fine night. They were kind enough to open up their garage for me to have a safe space to deliver my little ones. Since then I’ve been under the care of CPoM & loving warm cuddles from my foster family. Now I don’t like to flaunt, but my foster parents tell me that I’ve a very rare coat which makes me one exotic beauty. I’m quite vocal and love to give headbutts to my humans to grab their attention. Getting pats and cuddles is my favourite thing apart from food, obviously! I’m quite friendly around little humans and friendly cats in my foster home but I adore my little children. I'd be quite restless if I don't see my kittens nearby so it would be nice to have at least one of my munchkins around. I’m quite a simple girl honestly and would accept you as my own in a blink.

Firefly's intro
They call me Firefly because it looks like my tail has a glowing light! I am quite protective of my people and my litter mates. I might look tough on the outside but I am quite a softie from the inside. Give me a warm cuddle and I will instantly fall asleep in your arms. I'd be at ease on my own but would be happier to live with my mum! I love to follow her and mimic all cat things she does. Tell you a secret, give me chicken and I might be fine but give me tuna/salmon & you will be mine :)

Smokey & Firefly are healthy raw fed cats who's been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated and microchipped (Smokey microchip #953010100027590, Firefly microchip #953010100013015, source #RE101165). They are available for adoption right now!

We are run by volunteers. We check enquiries three times a day and try to respond within 24 hours. If you want us to follow up, you can text the Cat Phone on 0415-241-211.
To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from Cat People of Melbourne. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
