About Bella
This interesting looking little girl is Laverne. Originally named after Laverne, the motherly gargoyle from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, we have since come to realise that she is more like the lovable tomboy, Laverne De Fazio from Laverne and Shirley!
Laverne is currently living with her foster family, who have fallen head over heels for her spunky attitude, energy, and affection.
She's quite hilarious when she throws her toys up in the air, commando rolls on the carpet, or talks back adorably when she really wants something. She has a huge personality!
Laverne loves to follow you around the house but is also able to occupy herself with a single toy and appreciates every minute of play. Laverne can switch from intense play to cuddle mode in an instant, and thoroughly enjoys smothering your face with kisses. This sweet girl loves a nap in the sun, in your lap, or anywhere she can fit.
As great as she is with people, Laverne would be perfectly happy never interacting with another dog, cat or rabbit for the rest of her days. She was even returned from her first foster home for running around the back yard swearing at the dogs next door through the fence!
She is not shy about letting everyone know that she refers to keep her distance from other animals because she is in fact, a small hairy human.
Medically, Laverne is a healthy girl. She did have an ear infection while in care and is currently being treated for seasonal allergies. Her new family will need to manage these skin issues with the right diet, vet checks when necessary and allergy medication if needed.
If you would like to adopt Laverne, please put in an application today and wait to be contacted. Please do not call the shelter directly.
