NOTE: You are unable to meet Rusty until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Rusty in person.

What I need in my new home:
• BREED EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• To be allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• No young children as when I'm excited I get very bouncy, older children who will be involved with my training should be ok.
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
• Being an active breed I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!
• I have a high prey drive so I can't go to a home that already has cats, rabbits/guinea pigs or chickens/ducks as I will chase them.
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL that I receive ongoing training to keep my behaviour from deteriorating and to ensure the training I've already received doesn't go to waste, I am a VERY trainable boy, with toys/food keeping my focus which helps me learn good behaviours.

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walks.
• Small children due to being bouncy and boisterous.
• other dogs - I am hit and miss with other dogs, the ones I like I don't really interact with so a home to myself is best where my family can focus 100% of their attention on me and my training.
• Cats or small animals as I have a high prey drive.

My best features:
• Very playful
• Highly food motivated
• I've been trained by a professional trainer along with ongoing training at home.
• I can sit, shake hands, stay, drop food/toys, and I know "on your bed"
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I LOVE toys, playing fetch and a game of tug-o-war
• Exuberant & full of beans
• Housetrained and used to being allowed inside

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this
• I can be strong on the lead - I come with the harnesses that help me best to not pull.
• I am social with other friendly dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, further socialisation is recommended.
• I have a BIG fear of plastic bags, slowly desensitising me to this is recommended.
