About Millie
Millie - or Millipede/Pedy - is a beautiful natured senior lady, a lover of all people. She is seeking a forever family to love her in her final years.
Millie must be an inside dog, day and night. She wants to spend her twilight years in bed or on the lounge with you. She likes to spoon and cuddle at night :) She is toilet trained and will let out a few polite barks to let you know when she needs to go out. So far she has never had a toileting accident inside, though she occasionally brings up some water after she drinks.
Millie is not a reactive barker, only making a noise occasionally to let you know she wants something. She never snaps or growls, her behaviour is well mannered. You can pick her up and cut her nails without issue.
Millie has some mild separation anxiety. She isn’t destructive with this, she just doesn’t settle or rest when her human isn’t home. For this reason, we would like her primary carer to be someone who is home most of the time.
She is social with other dogs (currently sharing a home with 5 small and 2 large dogs) and tolerant of cats. She is also friendly with chickens. I believe she’ll be fine with most pocket pets as she is gentle and indifferent.
Millie is approximately 15 years old, though in excellent health for her age. She has had full bloods done while in care, which were all unremarkable. She does have a couple of issues with her eyes, ears and skin that we will discuss with any potential adopters…
Millie is around 85% blind. She requires eye drops 2-3 times a day for chronic dry eye and fortnightly Malaseb baths for dermatitis. Every few months, or as needed, she receives a Depo-Medrol injection to ease the agitation of her dermatitis. She is also prone to ear infections and will need ear drops as needed.
Millie comes with a lifetime guarantee to accept her back at the rescue for a full refund of her adoption fee, should you ever be in a position where you can no longer care for her.
