About Cleo and Pepper
Is your heart big enough to have two furbabies?
Cleo and Pepper are a bonded pair who are looking for their new forever home.
Both girls are Chihuahuas (Cleo is 7 years old and Pepper is 9 years old)
Cleo and Pepper are a package deal (bonded pair).
Cleo and Pepper are reserved when they first meet you and will need to adjust to their new surroundings and people, however once they are comfortable you will see their personalities shine.
Cleo and Pepper will require someone who is home more often than not, works for home, is retired etc.
Cleo is very friendly and easy going, loves attention and is super affectionate and needy. Cleo will push other dogs out of the way to get to her humans.
She loves back scratches
Cleo also loves a daily walks (but can be a bit reactive while on her lead) and playing fetch with her miniature tennis balls.
Cleo loves her sister Pepper and will get anxious if separated from her – they are a bonded pair and very close.
Cleo can react to cats but should be fine with a slow intro.
Pepper is a little more reserved then Cleo and can be a bit snappy when scared or unsure when first meeting people or startled when being woken up unexpectedly – she will take longer to adjust to a new environment.
Pepper also loves to play fetch with her miniature tennis ball and is always up for a game of tug of war with her toys.
Pepper is fine with other small dogs and can be reactive to cats.
Pepper enjoys her walks with Cleo but can get tired and will request to be carried.
Pepper will choose her human in the home and bond to them more than others in the home – we would be looking for a home where there is a few people so that both girls can have a lap each and Clio is unable to push Pepper out of the way. Pepper’s devotion to her humans is strong.
Both girls are air conditioning queens – and love to spend time inside the house – their idea of going outside is for walks and lady business only.
Both girls are child friendly but we would be looking for a home with children over the age of 13 just to give these two ladies a quiet(er) lifestyle.
We would be looking for a home where dog ramps are available for the bed and the couch – their little legs means no jumping up onto furniture by themselves.
If you think you could make this gorgeous pair a part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt them, please send thru an adoption application.
** Please note applications will close Thursday 24th February 2022 at 5.30pm

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
