Nipper

Nipper is a cute young tuxedo cat with a tiny white smudge on his very black face.

Like all cats, Nipper likes to have choices and that includes whether he feels in the mood to smooch or not. And believe us he can smooch. He is very friendly and tells you what he wants by rubbing on your hand -  however, he can sometimes get overwhelmed if he gets too many strokes.

Nipper generally likes to make his own decisions & that's probably why he prefers not to be picked up. He sometimes swats,  seemingly for no reason, but as we know everything a cat does has a trigger and it's all about identifying and then managing the triggers. Nipper's current environment at SAFE may not be to his liking, he may not be enjoying being confined and this is one way he shows it.  This kind of reaction usually stops when cats are given space and choices in a home environment, so if you can give him a chance the plan is that he will naturally respond to your love and understanding, start to relax and his softer side will shine through.
