About Bede

Meet Bede, the 5 year old happy boy.
Bede has lived in an apartment and has adapted to the amount of space and his surroundings quite well. He usually just roams around the house sniffing and lays down in many different spots. We often find him laying on the floorboards where it’s nice and cool.
Bedey has tolerated some alone time very well. We leave him for about an hour at a time when we duck out to get coffee or go to the shops. When we come back we find him lazing on the couch just like we left him.
He might be going well with respectful children, as Bede is not jumpy at all. I haven’t seen him jump once. Just Waits for pats and is very calm.
Once or twice a day, he has a spurt of energy and plays with his toys for a good hot minute before going back to his naps :)
Bedey instantly knows it’s walkies/ pee time when he hears his leash. He jumps up let’s us put it on him and trots out the door. Outside on the lead he doesn’t really pull. He might freeze a bit to stare at those birds, but he can easily be snapped out of this by tugging the lead ever so slightly.
Bedey holds his toilet all through the night because he knows in the morning his foster mum takes him out for a wee. We take him out about 5-6 times during the day for a walkies and wee breaks.
We have found that if another dog gets up really close in Bede's face he does a little growl. But can be distracted easily by crossing the road and giving him a treat. Usually stares at dogs across the street for a few seconds whilst he is walking. Sometimes he does get fixated and just stays put while staring but can be bribed to move along with food and pats.
Will Bede be your Couch potato companion?
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
