About Koah
Introducing Koah!
This sweet boy is a 1 year old Kelpie x possibly a bit of German Shepherd weighing in at 19.8 kilos so not a big size fella
Koah is a very energetic fun loving beautiful boy who is looking for his forever home. He is a young boy that still needs a little bit of training but has such a big heart ready to find his forever person!
Personality
Koah is a very energetic boy with a kind heart. He’s a young boy that still needs quite a bit of training so will be looking for someone with experience. He is confident when he knows his surroundings but can be a little shy with new people. He loves to chew and keep busy so lots of toys help burn off that energy! He loves a cuddle and is super affectionate but can be quite hyperactive if he’s in a playful mood!
Feed
Koah gets dry food in the morning and then dry food with some wet prime 100 roll and night time. He was a little skinny when first coming to his foster home but is looking very healthy now! He also loves kong toys with treats in them and bones to keep busy!
Sleeping
Koah used to hate being inside but now sleeping in the laundry on a big soft bed. He sleeps throughout the night with no issues at all!
Exercise/toys
Koah is an extremely high energy dog that loves to keep busy! If he is not kept busy with toys and walks he will find his own games to keep busy like chewing things he shouldn’t! He walks 1-2 times a day and is left with Kong toys every day with a paddle pool also on the hot days. He also loves to be let off lead at the park to run around and stretch those long legs of his!
Based on his high energy we feel he is best suited to a home with another high energy dog to help keep him stimulated while his family are out and about.
He definitely requires a large yard to play and a good leg stretch run daily
Training
He is slowly learning but is still a young dog. He struggles to listen when very excited but still tries his best once knowing what he is doing. He will need ongoing training after adoption to teach him as he gets older. Having someone experienced would be preferred or a home that is prepared to take him to training as he still needs to learn to focus He is toilet trained and is getting a lot better on the lead too!
Social
Koah is good with both cats and dogs! He is a very social boy but can be very boisterous so will suit a home with a younger dog that can keep up with him. He loves the residence cat but doesn’t spend a lot of time with him and the cat is only indoors. He loves all people, can just be a little shy sometimes when first being introduced.
Koah is such a lovely boy but will need someone preferably experienced or prepared to take him to training to continue his training. He can jump up a lot so small children are not ideal. He has a huge heart and just wants to play all day long! He will need lots of stimulation with walks, dog park runs, toys like Kongs and or bones, or even just a good run around in the backyard twice a day. He has come such a long way but just needs someone to continue this amazing journey with him to give him his forever home!
