About Dayton
Dayton is a very social, confident and intelligent puppy who wants to be friends with everyone he meets, both human and dog.
He is very affectionate, and loves receiving cuddles (and giving cheeky licks) and having his belly and ears scratched. Dayton is a sweet puppy with an unbelievably soft coat, and deserves a fun home where he can be a beloved member of the family.
He is fully toilet trained and takes himself outside through the doggy door. He walks happily on a loose leash, and loves going for a run on leash. He sits politely waiting to cross the road, come inside, be served dinner, and have his leash put on and off. Dayton came to us almost completely untrained, but has already mastered sitting and not jumping up when excited, and is working on stay and recall. He responds to both food and affection-based rewards and is a very quick learner.
Dayton is very social and loves meeting new people. He likes kids and will happily give lots of licks, but due to his energy and occasional tendency to still jump up when excited, he would not be suitable for young children.
Dayton is a typical working breed mix with a good level of energy and needs someone who can keep him physically and mentally occupied. He is very quick and agile, so may be a good candidate for agility training or some form of dog sport if interested. He is excited and confident meeting other dogs, and really likes playing with other puppies that can match his exuberance.
Dayton likes being in the same room as his people at all times, and doesn’t like to be left alone for too long. He likes to snuggle his soft toys while sleeping, but also enjoys playing tug-of-war with them during the day. Impromptu toys he can chew on, like water bottles and cardboard boxes are great fun and he likes to play fetch and doggy soccer.
Dayton would suit an active home, where he can be taken for a long walk (ideally two!) or run every day, in addition to playtime in the backyard and sufficient mental stimulation. He needs space and a garden to explore, so would not suit a unit.
We are looking for a home with another playful dog at home for company and or someone home most days. An active interest in working breeds would be ideal or at a minimum, a good understanding of physical & mental stimulation techniques. He should be an indoor/ outdoor dog with a warm, comfy bed inside at night.
Dayton needs someone who can give him the correct amount of stimulation and attention, along with continued training and may not suit a home with young children because he can get a little mouthy when excited.
If looking for an active dog, Dayton may be your boy. Please apply by completing the adoption enquiry form on our Fetching Dogs website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
