About Astro
Meet Astro, this sweet boy wears his heart on his sleeve and is extremely loving and loyal. He looks like a big teddy bear and indeed acts like one too. He adores big, long cuddles with his humans and will be your best friend. Oh, and he is pretty good-looking too!
Look no further if you fancy an incredibly rewarding, loyal, gentle, and loving new family member. Astro is brilliant with kids - as long as they don't mind getting a lick from time to time. Toys are not safe around Astro; he loves to destroy them quickly. This being said, he is very well-behaved and has never chewed shoes or furniture.
Gorgeous Astro admires his humans and always wants to be close to you. He needs to be around anything that is happening, and so he would be a great family dog. His duty is to take care of his family, provide lots of love and kisses and have a good snooze. He takes all three duties very seriously!
Astro is working on his separation anxiety at the moment and needs to continue to do so. Routines are helpful when leaving him alone during the day. This clever guy has completed a few training courses. He is a quick learner (he is hugely driven by human affection and food). He is noticeably a happier and better-behaved dog when training is part of his routine. This means he knows a few commands, and he would like to continue these in the future.
He is toilet trained and has not had an accident inside. Astro loves his walkies, preferably he would like to have 1 bigger (30+ minutes) or 2 shorter walks daily. He does get pretty puffed out quickly and will find a comfy snooze spot once he is back home.
Ideally, Astro is going to a home with a single person, couple, or family searching for their new best friend and is open to receiving and giving lots of love and attention. They will be home more often than not, as Astro is happiest when his humans are around. A balcony or garden would be great for long snoozes in the sun. As he has had limited exposure with other doggo's, he would be best as the only pet. He is overly excited and is still in the process of learning other dogs' boundaries. Cats are a no-no; he definitely prefers his humans. One thing is for sure, Astro will make you very, very happy!
Medical notes
He does have some anxiety (mainly separation anxiety) issues that he takes medication for however with continued effort these can be minimised. Astro has a sensitive stomach and struggled for a period with bowel issues. Over the last few months he has fixed this on a specific vet recommended kibble so he will strictly need to stay on a diet of this. He also takes medication for his anxiety, which is given in pill form nightly and can be purchased at a low cost from the chemist / vet.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
