About Astrid
Astrid is a sweetie pie who likes nothing more than a cuddle and a pat. She absolutely loves people, and everyone who meets her thinks that she is adorable! Her secret powers are her puppy dog eyes and slinking closer for a cuddle and a sneaky kiss, if you aren't paying her enough attention. Astrid adores all forms of attention and loves to do anything with her people.
Astrid loves soft toys, but they do not last long. She has so much fun pulling the stuffing out, and then she can play with the toy's shell for weeks! This beautiful girl also thinks a spot on the couch would be heavenly, followed closely by a spot right at your feet - but a comfy dog bed would also be great. Astrid feels the cold; maybe that is why she is such a snuggle pup. She gets all excited when she gets to put on her jumper or jacket, and she does the cutest little butt wiggle.
Astrid currently hangs out in the yard when there is no one home. She is happy sleeping in the sun or the kennel until her people come home.
Astrid goes on regular short walks. Dog parks are not recommended because too much running around and excitement is not good for her hips. She loves her walks, though, and although she can do a lovely heel, she also likes walking at the end of her lead so she can roam wider for a good sniff. She is house trained and will use a dog door or ask politely to be let out if she needs to go.
Astrid absolutely LOVES kids, especially the little ones (their faces are closer for those sneaky kisses). Astrid has an amiable character. She wants to cuddle up with kids straight away, follow them around, or lick the food off their fingers.
Astrid needs a careful introduction to other dogs. She prefers calmer dogs, so it is more about the temperament than the size. She can be a little freaked out if another dog is too forward or boisterous. She currently lives with two other dogs, and they all get along well. (Although her little brother can be really annoying sometimes, so she hides in the kennel when he is too full on). She has never tried to live with cats or pocket pets.
Astrid would like to be the only dog to get all of the attention for herself. She would suit a family that wants to include their dog as part of the family so she can follow them around and be close to them. She would like their human(s) to be home more often than not, so she can provide them with lots of snuggles and attention.
If you're looking for a 20kg lap dog, Astrid is the dog for you!
Medical notes
Astrid has some mild arthritis in her hips. She is currently getting a single shot each month at home that has her bouncing around like a little puppy. Aside from this, she is a healthy girl. She has had regular checkups and monthly Nexguard Spectra worms, ticks and fleas treatment.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
