NAME: Chanel

BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to us from the pound. She hasn't had the best start to life at all and needs an extra special home where she'll be loved and cherished. She came to us with an old injury to one of her back legs which caused her pain and inhibited her movement, so the decision was taken to amputate the limb. Since this has been done she has a new lease of life and is now ready to find her forever home. She also has a bald patch on one side which will never grow any hair which we believe came from a burn of some kind.

ASSETS: She's gorgeous! A little shy initially but once you have her trust she's loving, playful and gentle with the most beautiful soul.

FAVOURITE THINGS: Chanel adores affection and will grab your hand in case you pull away when she's getting patted. She's also very playful despite only having 3 legs and loves to chase her favourite red mouse. She also loves to catch mice on strings.

OTHER ANIMALS: Chanel could live with other friendly cats after gentle introduction. Her new owner will need to ensure that she doesn't play hard or jump around too much and cause damage to her one remaining back leg. She hasn't met any dogs yet but could possibly live with a feline-friendly dog, again after gentle, closely supervised introductions.

OTHER INFO: Chanel is litter trained and very clean. She is flea-treated wormed, microchipped and desexed. She has a little quirky thing that she does. She stretches out her stump and walks backwards, which looks a bit strange at first but you soon get used to it. She loves to jump up on a chair under the dining table for a nap and gets spooked by loud noises, but if you speak to her gently she soon relaxes.

IDEAL HOME: Chanel would be great in a quieter home once she's settled in and feels secure. She will go well with people who will shower her with love while treating her gently and letting her get to know them at her own pace. She would suit a home with older gentle, cat-savvy children only who will understand her limitations and will need to be kept as an indoor only cat or have access to a large, secure outside run.
