Gene is an affectionate, energetic and playful pup. He is a bit food obsessed and will eat just about any food he can find. Don’t expect to put food on the bench then turn your back and expect it to be still there.
He is an intelligent boy. He is still a puppy in a lot of ways and tends to chew the odd item when left unsupervised where there are interesting things to chew (BBQ fat tray, thongs slippers etc) but its manageable, he is a puppy. Gene is friendly with other dogs and gets along great with an Australian Cattle dog that we are also fostering. He loves cuddles with his family, belly rubs and playing inside or out especially at the beach.
He can happily occupy himself but hasn’t been left alone for long periods of time. He is house and crate trained.
Gene is intelligent, he knows to go to the bathroom on command and is also familiar with sit, stay, drop and bedtime.
We have not had Gene near young children but think he would be good once they get to know each other. He knows he is not allowed on indoor furniture, he walks/ heels well and is generally well behaved at home. Not tested with cats.
