📌 Someone who will continue with Alcyone’s training - preferably at least one session with a trainer to ensure a clear consistent message is being presented.
📌 A large yard to stretch her legs and complete her daily zoomies.
📌 No resident dogs, cats or kids for now.

Alcyone is a young pup with gorgeous brown eyes and a dominant streak.

Hobbies:
Walking with her people
Chasing everything including butterflies
Chewing all the things that don’t move and some that do (balls)
Talking - Alcyone likes to talk throughout her day, mainly when she wants something.

Alcyone is a young pup in a big dog body. We have had a session with a trainer to understand Alcyone and she is responding well to boundaries and absolutely requires an experienced, strong handler who won’t let her get away with little indiscretions.

Alcyone walks beautifully on a lead with a halti on a controlled walk. Alcyone will sometimes become quite vocal when she sees another dog approach - this is due to excitement and she doesn’t understand that talking to the other dog in the street is the worst way to introduce yourself... As a pup, she does have a tantrum every now and then when she doesn’t get her way.

For a young pup that has only had a few weeks of learning boundaries she has excelled. We would expect the training to continue - reinforcing no jumping, correcting her when she is mouthing and praising her for being the best girl when she does all the good things.

Alcyone LOVES toys. Chew toys, ropes, sticks, squeaky toys and especially soft rubber bouncy balls. This gorgeous pup will take herself outside to throw her toys around. She is not destructive unless bored and then the bin might get emptied around the floor.

Alcyone is ok with other dogs, she can be quite dominant in play and does not listen to the other dogs cues that they don’t like her behaviour - or back off. This is something that will require attention immediately - she will only get bigger. Alcyone also gets super excited when someone visits - this is one area to continue working on with the corrections we are currently using.

If you have the patience of a saint and are willing to spend time working with this girl she will make you the proudest person on earth. We do not recommend children at this time as Alcyone is still a puppy, she does zoomies and runs into things that are in her way - if that was a child they would be bowled over. We do not recommend another dog at this time as Alcyone does not listen to their cues. Alcyone has not been tested with cats.
