About Aspen - Foster Carer Needed
Aspen is a sweet, 2 year old Maremma looking for her rural idyll!
She has been in and out of prospective homes in the inner suburbs while in a city pound for almost four months, waiting for her forever family.
Aspen is a gentle, loving and very affectionate dog with humans and has reacted positively to living in a semi-rural property with ample space to run around and thoroughly enjoys the peace and quiet of rural living, she even quickly became comfortable living and sleeping indoors. It is unclear if she has a desire to be a livestock guardian, but requires a rural or semi-rural home due to her breed. Please note: NO suburban applications will be considered.
Aspen has showing signs of being reactive to other dogs (resident dogs, dogs in neighbouring homes and reactivity while out on walks), probably due to lack of socialisation, so needs more training in this regard.
She is somewhat safe around chickens, but needs to be tested with any other resident pets or livestock.
Aspen needs a home where the family is around more often than not for adequate company, and is willing to invest in understanding her likes and dislikes and training.
At this stage we at FFAR have only had Aspen in temporary care for a short period and know very little about her history. It has however been easy to see all she needs is time, love and attention. If this could be you and if you also have Maremma experience, Aspen might be the dog for you!
Aspen is the sweetest thing!
