About (Nick) Fury
Eye spy with Fury’s little eye a loving new home! This one eyed pooch is ready to show you what your family is missing!
Fury was given his name after the Marvel comic book character Nick Fury. To jump straight into this little hero’s tale- this one eyed doggo was born with an underdeveloped right eye! But, don’t you worry, this doesn’t affect him (or his health) in the slightest. Yes, he may occasionally bang into things on his right side but boy has this little guy adapted to his special way of life by using his ears and leash tension to help guide where he is in his environment.
If that doesn’t show how amazing this guy is, then his ball skills sure will. Fury loves nothing more than being in the great outdoors with his family! He is a very active boy who enjoys running and love, love, loves to fetch!
Fury is a very friendly boy who enjoys curling up with his humans inside in the evening, however he is also happy to be in his own space and does well on his own during the day as long as he has plenty of space to play and lots of attention when his humans are home! Fury is a very intelligent boy, a quick learner and very responsive. He is an inside and outside dog but mostly sleeps inside on his bed near his humans. He has been crate trained in the past and is comfortable sleeping in a soft crate or open bed.
When it comes to being out and about Fury is an awesome dog. He has great leash manners and good recall. He obeys commands when out and about and is not easily distracted by other dogs or things around him. When on the lead Fury is not reactive towards other dogs and is generally very happy to just walk on past them. Fury absolutely loves to run and has learnt to run alongside the bike on leash or with them while his humans jog! Fury needs to be taken on a long walk or a run at least once a day, but he would love to do more.
Unfortunately Fury has some anxiety around big and/or boisterous dogs. This is as a result of an unfortunate attack by a larger dog when he was a pup. Fury does not go looking for trouble and is not reactive when walking by other dogs that are on leash or controlled, however his anxiety can get the better of him when big excited dogs come running up to him and try to interact, and he can become defensive. Therefore he is not currently suited to busy off-leash areas, although he does seem to be improving with time. Fury has never shown aggression towards small dogs and does not seem to see them as a threat, and he has always lived with other dogs who he has gotten on well with, however he would be best as an only dog just to ensure his transition to his new home is as stress free as possible for him. If he was to find a new home with another dog a meet and greet would be essential first.
Fury isn't a fan of having his feet touched and will let you know if he is uncomfortable by barking and removing himself from the situation, however if you tell him it is necessary he will allow you to clean his feet/clip his nails.Fury seems to do really well around kids and does not jump up on them but he is very energetic and may knock a small child over as he runs past, so he would be best rehomed with older/more mature kids who know how to act around a dog.
Fury has always lived with cats and is not aggressive towards them however he likes to play chase, which scares some cats. He would be alright rehomed with a dog-savvy cat. Because of his herding nature he can't be rehomed with pocket pets as he will scare them. He has had limited experience with children, and may jump on them initially but he stops when told. He is great with adults
Fury needs a decent, well fenced yard to play in, especially if he is going to be home alone at all during the day. Fury is very agile so high fences are a must! However he has never tried to escape from home, even if the gate is open - he has no interest in being away from his family once he's bonded with you.
Note: Fury is located in Ruse, NSW
Medical notes
Fury is a healthy lad, he has one eye but that doesn’t cause any issues.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
