About Woofy
Woofy is a bit of a different case.
Woofy is a local celebrity where we live. Our whole community knows and feels sorry for him. Woofy is DESPERATE for human interaction and affection. So escapes his yard to find it at the local pub a few streets away. Mind you, the fencing is only chicken wire.
So Woofys owner decided he would put him on a short, heavy chain 😡. Sometimes Woofy now escapes with the chain attached.
Woofy has a beautiful, friendly, loving nature, not a mean bone in his body. I’m unsure how because he gets kicked and yelled at quite regularly and still goes back licking and wanting hugs. It’s heartbreaking.
Woofy is sheep friendly and hasn’t had any issues with dogs he’s met on his travels around town. Dogs walk past his yard and he just bounds along, probably wishing he could go for a walk with them.
The bad:
Woofy is a BIG boy. He is strong and has absolutely no clue he is.
He is full of energy and has no manners. All he knows if he wants to be as close as he can to you even if that means trying to jump up or get on your lap.
He will need someone who wants a dog to be part of the family, not chucked in a back yard and who is willing to put up with a possible few weeks of him being super excited.
I am a 70kg qualified trainer and I can handle him, he will need either a confident or physically strong handler.
We have excluded homes with kids, not because he doesn’t love them, he loves anyone and everyone but he’s just very goofy and can knock kids over or jump and scratch them accidentally. I’m sure this would change with some time and training.
We have excluded cats because he’s not ever met one.
Woofy is a beautiful natured dog who deserves more than his current life. We are grateful his owner is now allowing us to afford him this opportunity.
