About Wagner
Wagner Hit Rock Bottom Before His Tail Started Wagging!
Like many of the dogs which come into our care, Wagner was in a sorry state for the first few days. He had supposedly been found lying unmoving in a gutter amongst some rocks out in the street and didn't even have the energy to walk.
We carried him to the car so we could transport him to the vet fully expecting him to have the onset of Parvo but the test was negative. However, he was badly dehydrated and very lethargic so he spent several days on a drip with electrolytes etc. I don't think anyone is quite sure what went wrong! Sure enough, he improved enough to go home to a foster carer (Thank you Steph and now Tiana) and is back to being a normal cheeky older puppy.
So many dogs who have been rescued in poor condition have amazingly gentle temperaments. It is almost as though they know they have been saved and are showing their gratitude and Wagner is no exception. I called him Wagner shortly after he was admitted to the vet because I saw his tail give a little wag when i went back to visit.
This affectionate young man would be the friendliest and most loyal companion and is somewhere under six months of age. It is all guesswork as we have zero background for him so I am going to call him a Mount Isa Special.
