About Willow
Willow is a handsome & sweet 14 year old Ragdoll male with the most
amazing blue eyes and lovely chocolate and cream colouring.
Willow was given up to a pound after his owner went into aged care. Willow's blood work came with raised ALT which could suggest liver inflammation **but** it is fairly normal for it to be raised in older cats. Willow has been checked for hypothyroidism and results came back negative. Willow is Desexed / Vaccinated / Microchipped / Wormed and Flea treated. He has recently had dental work - plaque removal, a clean and two extractions which went really well and is all healed up now. He also had a low grade / benign tumour removed from his right shoulder area. He had to have stitches and they are healing very well now.
Willow is an adorable shmoozy boy, he loves it when you are near him. He loves head rubs and head butts with you. Willow is very vocal and chat and will tell you when he wants attention and to be near him. At night he loves snuggling near you especially on the bed. He will give your feet and fingers a lick and if he gets near your face he will show even more love, sometimes even wanting to give you a little nip (only because he loves you so much and wants to be near you!). He is a very good listener and will listen and respect your boundaries when you say. He loves to put his paws on and around you, it’s very sweet. He has a calming and loving energy. He also loves to play with anything that resembles a mouse's tail like shoe string, cat toys with long string attached etc. He loves his food but will not overeat.
He usually feeds a few times a day. His big meals are morning and evening and usually consist of 1 sachet of Royal Canin Hairball Care wet food. In between meals he will let you know when he wants food - he will ask you until you feed him, once he's had enough food, he will stop asking you. I usually give him a handful of Royal Canin Hairball Care dry food kibble for in between snacks. He uses his litter box very well, is very neat and tidy. He is very easy to handle and groom (is totally fine with claws being clipped) and takes pill medication very well. I like to groom him most days to get rid of excess fur. His fur funnily enough isn’t too much of a problem around the house.
I’ve had a shorthair domestic cat prior to Willow and she shed a lot more fur.
Willow gets a bit stressed when he has to go to the vet and will be vocal in the car.
He would be happiest having access to a secure outdoor area preferably
with grass he can munch on and sunshine he can feel on his fur but his
outside time must be supervised and he should never ever be left
outside on his own.
He does not like other cats or dogs and would need a household with no other dogs or cats and preferably no children. He doesn't really enjoy loud noises or a hurried hectic atmosphere. Someone who is a homebody would be perfect for Willow. He is a loving, affectionate and fun boy, with a sweet personality and just the right amount of spunk, anyone will be lucky to have him. He hopes you are the one he's been looking for to settle down with and live happily ever after!
