Laid back? Cool? Chilled out? This boy is definitely a smooth dude. He likes to be with people, but is ok on his own, he just takes life as it comes. Dougie has recently (Sept 2022) been introduced to Raven as a kennel-buddy and they're getting along well, both dogs are polite and careful not to offend each other with rough play or exuberant games. He would be a good companion for a quiet, older dog, he can get excited, but doesn't want to tackle-play. Dougie doesn't mind a bit of a zoom, so he's got spirit, but not too much! He's a big fella, at around 40 kg, but quite self-aware and not rough - he can run straight at you and nimbly duck right around you at the last moment. Jumps up, but not on you, if that makes sense? Clean in his kennel, a good do-er with his food, lovely on the leash. You need to SEE this dog, please don't by-pass him, he's not just another black Greyhound, he's special. Not cat friendly.
Dougie has had some teeth extracted and will require ongoing monitoring.
In July 2021 Dougie appeared to have renal insufficiency but blood tests in July 2022 have shown his kidneys are working well and there are now no concerns!
It is recommended that independent veterinary advice is sought prior to adoption, copies of all relevant blood tests can be provided.
