I am Arlo, a sweet gentleman. Fortunately, I value the simple things in life - time with my humans and animal pals, treats and food, quiet time, and a leisurely walk. Despite my size, I am gentle with my friends and am a pleasure to walk. Although I can be a little apprehensive, I would appreciate a daily walk. I have a medium level of energy but that doesn't stop the zoomies when they hit - especially when I have a friend around. I am great with children of all ages.
Learning tricks and playing are two of my favourite things. I can sit and shake, I wait for my dinner politely, and am learning to stay. I'm learning new things like how to use a pet door - whoa this was a bit scary but slowly I worked it out. Food motivates me to learn but I learn at my own pace. Squeaky toys are the best, I like them being thrown but I don't know why the humans want them back.
Recently, I have discovered some delectable foods. I really like mince, fresh and BBQ chicken and fruit. Peanut butter in a Kong is to die for! After I have had my dinner, I cruise to see if my buddy has finished theirs, but I respect her so leave her be.
While I do enjoy my own company, I relish the company of my foster friends - another dog and two cats. I am happy to be left at home with my foster friends but I wouldn't like it if you weren't home a lot. Sleeping inside is great, as I tend to try to chase and catch possums at night. I would probably like a crate of my own as I can sometimes get a little overwhelmed, especially in new situations.
A larger yard (500sqm or larger) is preferred as I do like to survey my surroundings and guard the yard. I don't bark often — only when people are too close to my yard, and at possums. My fence needs to be 5-6ft tall, and I am learning to wait at the gate for the car to go in and out.
