About Mittens
MEET MITTENS!
Mittens is approximately 7 years young. He is a domestic short haired black and white boy, fully vet worked, healthy and ready for his forever home!
Unfortunately Mitten's family is moving interstate and they are unable to take him, so he has found himself in rescue with us. He has been loved and cared for all his life and we would love to be able to find him a home just as great, if not better.
Mittens is a pretty relaxed dude, he has lived with dogs all his life so would be fine living with a cat-friendly dog but has never shared his home with another cat before so we can't say whether or not he would be happy sharing, so ideally he'd be the only cat in your home.
Mittens has grown up with older kids and is happy and comfortable with them and isn't phased at all by strangers visiting his home! He would rub up against visitors and beg for a pat. Mittens is a lap cat and will happily come and jump up onto your lap whilst watching tv or laying in bed and will hop off when he's ready. He is basically an easy going, friendly happy boy who would fit into almost any home! He currently has supervised time outside with his owner and is strictly INDOOR ONLY otherwise.
- Mittens would prefer no other cats in his household however we may consider it for the right home and trial.
- Mittens is INDOOR ONLY for life please only apply for him if this is suitable for your household.
- When applying for Mittens please tell us all about yourself and your home and why you are interested in him, the more info the better! We pride ourselves on matching the right cat to the right home.
Medical notes
Mittens is a healthy adult cat, his last health check and vaccine was this year on the 19th of January 2022.
We highly advocate for premium brand foods, Mittens needs to be on adult diet preferably royal canin, hills science diet, blackhawk, leaps & bounds or advance etc no supermarket diets please! Occasional treats is okay.
He would also benefit from dental treats such as Greenies which are a great preventative.
Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
