About Bagira
Affectionate, playful, cuddly, expressive, and full of character; Bagira is a happy boy who is eager to please his people. He’s smoochy and people focused, he’ll follow you around and make sure you feel how important you are to him!
He is very food motivated and clever, with his manners improved quickly once he worked out how to please the people to get treats! He loves going for walks and walks well on his harness, but will pull without it. He’ll be coming to his new home with his harness.
He loves other dogs and has been excited to meet others both big and small. He gains confidence from other dogs and so, Bagira must have another dog in his new home.
He isn't a big dog, he weighs around 38kgs and is soft onlead.
The biggest thing to know for Bagira is that he is very wary/uncomfortable with some strangers, especially in his home. His new people will need to work around this with him. Please be mindful he may never be comfortable with visitors and will need to be kept separate for everyone's comfort and safety. He is a guard breed, but is terrified of strangers in his house; he is sadly quite confused about what strangers mean to him. He is fine with strangers outside of the house. He doesn't want to bite, he tries to bluff strangers and asks them to leave in his scariest voice. He is a loyal, loving and fun dog for his people, but he is not a social butterfly. He takes his role as guardian of his home and people seriously.
He is currently living with another dog, two cats and has regular visits from seeing eye dog puppies for their socialisation.

Medical notes
Bagira is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
Bagira has had a skin condition that will need monitoring & regular baths in the short term. He is currently on medication for this and it has improved markedly since coming into care. Unfortunately his previous people didn’t treat his skin and allowed it to become granulated and infected. It is possible that this issue will flare up again in the future as we are unsure what caused the original irritation. He isn’t too keen on having a bath, but begrudgingly tolerates it from his fav people, with a whyyyy human look on his face. He is very expressive and it’s pretty adorable.
