About Dexter ~ Cattle Dog X (Trial Pend 9/2/22)
It’s our absolute pleasure to introduce the worlds most loveable, adorable mischievous puppy in the world, Dexter. Dexter is a 10 week cattle dog cross that’s only mission in life is to play play play, love, sleep, eat and play play play. Dexters personality is huge and anyone that meets him is instantly captivated the second they look into his gorgeous eyes. Dexter is extremely affectionate and loves nothing more than snuggling hard on the lounge with anyone in the house.
Since arriving into foster care with his gorgeous sister Meg, he has made everyone in the house fall in love with his antics and personality. Dexter is smart as a whip and is already asking please for his food and learning to sit, recall and walk on a lead. Dex has been an inside dog and is responding well to crate and toilet training. Dexter loves to explore the yard and wrestle with his sister and foster sister. Dex hasn’t had much exposure to walking on a lead as he has only had his first vaccination but responded well. Dexter has no issue with other dogs he has met and is very social although he is a little heavy handed when playing with the cat but responds well to being told no (apart from giving the big sad eyes)
Dexter’s perfect home would have people around all the time as he loves the attention and will blossom with more training as he is super smart and energetic. Dex is great with kids although still a little nippy as you would expect from a 10 week old cattle dog. Dex loves to explore so will need solid fencing and would benefit from another dog to run amok with and learn the rules like he has with his older foster sister. Dex will bring pure happiness to any family that has the time to enjoy his massive personality. His eagerness to please and be with his people is pure love and joy.
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All puppies will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training to ensure proper boundaries and routines are established. This will ensure that you get the best family member/friend possible.
Dexter needs to be welcomed inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be a wonderful family dog but may not be suitable for children under 10 years of age.
As Dexter is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he will need to be returned to a local vet for desexing when he is approximately 5/6 months old. Please NO out of area applications.
For more information on Dexter, please contact his foster carer on their email troysandiford@me.com. Dexter is in foster care in Cardiff NSW. Dex's adoption fee is $700 which includes all up to date vet work, this includes vaccinations, microchipping and is treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
