Adoption information
I've been adopted!
About Baz - Located in Northcote
Please read medical notes before applying.
Baz is a sweet gentleman and a beautiful soul. He follows me from room to room and seems to like nothing so much as being around his human. He is a total lap cat who will sit on you at the slightest provocation. He is a fantastic companion-cat.
Baz is very laid-back, and should settle in easily to a loving home. He likes to chat and will entertain you with a range of chirrups, mirrups and mews (also a hilarious muttering-noise that sounds just like Marge Simpson). Sometimes he gives little Baz-kisses (little licks and nuzzles) or checks up on you with a tap of his paw on your hand or foot.
This beautiful boy is so sweet and lovely and so very affectionate.
Baz has a few health challenges and will need some ongoing medications. But he’s cooperative and easy to give them to. He had eye surgery last year needs daily eyedrops. He’s got some arthritis and takes pain medication daily and a regular booster of an arthritis injection “Pentosan” at a vet. He is FIV+ so will need to be an indoor cat and housed with no other cats (Please see below under Medical notes on FIV+ cats).

Medical notes
FIV+ cats live a normal life for many years and we cannot predict the life span of these cats. FIV positive cats sometimes have a scruffy coat and the condition can lead to chronic recurrent infections in the mouth, eye and skin. FIV cannot infect people, however it can infect other cats through bite wounds commonly from fights. FIV positive cats can co-exist with other cats that don't have FIV without issues.
We encourage that the cat is either an indoor cat or a confined cat - eg access to a cat run outdoors. We recommend regular vet visits (6 monthly) to monitor weight, coat changes, mouth etc.

Had eye surgery last year to repair a lens luxation in his left eye and entropion surgery for both eyes. His left eye is prone to high pressure and requires close monitoring and medication to prevent further damage to the eye.
He has had a case of FLUDT in the past, and a urinary diet is recommended to help prevent it reoccurring.
