About Aggie
If you are interested in Aggie or any of our Greyhounds then please fill in our adoption form; https://www.hounds-in-homes.com/adoptionform
Aggie is doing great in foster care. She is a gorgeous, affectionate girl with stunning eyes that melt your heart. She is 2 and half and still very much a puppy at heart.
Aggie is living in a busy inner city suburb with her older foster sister (another greyhound). She loves her walks and can be very excitable for the first 5 minutes or so, but then settles down into a good rhythm. She adores meeting other people and dogs (she is polite with all dogs big and small on leash), and has shown no signs of aggression. Her leash skills are coming along, however she does have the tendency to quickly take off after things that interest her (especially the local ibis!) so her new owners will need to have a firm hand with the leash and be committed to continue with her training. She is happy with 2 short walks a day and is content laying in her bed or on the couch for the majority of the day.
Aggie is very food-driven and loves her meals and treats. She is a smart girl and learns quickly. She has shown some resource guarding with the couch when our other greyhound tries to jump on, however she is getting better at this but will need to be monitored if her new home has other pets until they are comfortable together.
Aggie is a fantastic dog with so much love to give, and adores all humans. She gets very cute flappy cheeks when she is happy and makes tiny chitter sounds when her food is being served up. She has a tendency to jump when very excited, so we would not recommend a home with very small children as she can be quite clumsy and run into you now and again. These are all minor things that can be managed through training and overall Aggie would make a great first greyhound for an individual, couple or family.
