About Peanut
Peanut is an extremely sweet and social cat, who can be described as a handsome gentle giant! He loves playing with toys and running around. His favourite things are toys on sticks, chasing and batting balls, and packing peanuts. He's mostly very relaxed and sleeps anywhere in the house. He likes all kinds of cat foods and any meats/fish or cheese from human foods.
Every morning and night Peanut wants to cuddle - he likes head, chin and butt scratches. He'll follow his human around the house and generally be interested in hanging out. When guests come over, he likes to say hi and will play with anyone willing to play with him. He's not shy at all. The ‘naughtiest’ thing he does is sneaking a sip of shower water or water out of a soaking pot in the kitchen. Peanut isn’t much of a hunter, a lot of times when there's insects in the home he'll just stare at them or bat them around.
Peanut sleeps in many parts of the house, couch, bed, balcony, floor. He likes to sleep at night in bed or under it and naps during working hours. He likes to watch things happening from the balcony. He doesn't like climbing or heights. He likes to inspect what his human is cooking in the kitchen, he'll get up on his hind legs and ask for a sniff. He doesn't love being in cars, and he's litter trained. He loves when a cave environment is set up, like with bed sheets drying on the balcony, he'll sleep under there, or with a blanket over someone's legs, he'll hide underneath. When he goes to the vet or to the groomer he's very relaxed and gets praised for being a good boy!
Peanut has FIV and will need to live with either no other cats or other FIV positive cats. Peanut hasn't lived with other pets or children previously but he is social and calm, and would very likely get along with others. Peanut will thrive in any environment where he's loved and cared for.
Medical notes
Peanut has FIV, which is why he needs to be kept strictly indoors, and not live with non-FIV cats. He would be okay living with dogs or other FIV cats. You can learn more about FIV here: https://www.fivcatrescue.org/fiv-what-is-fiv/.
Peanut has had a bladder issue last year where his bladder had to be drained. Because of this he is on a special diet to support his urinary tract health. He had some issues with his teeth, where they were cracked, that has been fixed, he had 1-2 teeth removed. The vet has said his teeth are healthy now. He was born with 1 testicle, he has been desexed. Vets concluded that he likely doesn't have an ingrown testicle based on his hormonal test results.
Peanut doesn't experience day to day health issues, he acts as a normal healthy cat.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
