About Zara
MEET ZARA
Zara is approximately 4 years young, she is a domestic short haired girl and she is fully vet worked, ready for her forever home! Zara has been let down time and time again by so many "homes" , its time we find her the purrfect FOREVER home, we must get it right!
Princess "Zara" is a 4 year old small pretty little tabby looking for a very special, kind, loving home. She needs an owner who is prepared and patient and will allow Zara to get used to where she is living and allow her to approach them when she is ready, she took 3 weeks before she settled in and decided that she did like her foster carer after being so scared and too shy to come out, initially she hid under her bed covers and then one day just jumped up on the carers knee and has blossomed into a beautiful, happy, loving cat from that day. Sadly Zara has been in foster care waiting for her forever home 5 months now! Could you be Zara's new home?
Zara loves pats, sitting on knees & smooching on your feet but does not like to be picked up, which is pretty common! She would love to sleep on your bed with you or sit on your lap or even just next to you as you watch tv. She is currently living with 2 gentle labradors and seems very fond of them so she would be happy to live with another cat-friendly dog but preferably no other cats please.
She would be best suited to an older person/adults with a quieter home. She may be too stressed by young children and would prefer to live with older kids who understand that she will need some time to settle in and feel safe. We are confident if you give Zara a chance, that you will fall in love with this little princess.
*Zara is INDOOR ONLY cat for life, please only apply for her if this is suitable for you and your home. An outdoor enclosure is desirable but not necessary.
**Good with dogs
***Please no other cats
*****Please no young kids
*******When applying for Zara, please tell us all about yourself and your home and why you think Zara would be a good match for you. We pride ourselves on matching the right cat with the right home, so the more info the better!
Medical notes
Zara is a healthy young adult, we highly advocate for premium quality dry food with wet food as a dinner/treat. Royal canin, Advance, Leaps & Bounds, Hills Science Diet and Blackhawk are all brands we highly recommend and feed to our cats in care, no supermarket diets please!
Zara (like all adult cats) would also benefit from daily Greenies dental treats to keep her teeth in good condition.
Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
